By using Lessons in Line, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Use. If you have questions about these terms, please contact lessonsinline@gmail.com before continuing.

1. The service

Lessons in Line is a private planner, assignment tracker, task organizer, and checklist with a focus on school and daily responsibilities. Workspace administrators may create and manage student trackers, calendars, day types, subjects, assignments, and tasks. Depending on permissions chosen by the administrator, students may view and complete items, add and manage their own tasks or subjects, or use an Independent Student tracker to manage their own planner.

When enabled, LessonLine allows an authorized user to upload supported photographs or PDFs of lesson-planning material for security scanning and automated assignment detection. The user chooses the receiving trackers, subject or topic, scheduling preferences, and dates and must review and approve the detected results before they are added. LessonLine is an organizational aid and does not provide curriculum or replace the user’s judgment.

TaskLine allows an administrator to select a photograph for security scanning and automated date-and-time detection. An optional team or group label may be used only to locate matching schedule entries. The administrator supplies the activity name, chooses recipients, reviews the detected dates and times, and approves the tasks before anything is added to the Lessons in Line calendar. TaskLine is limited to 10 successful photo analyses per family per calendar month, one event or related series per photo, and up to 25 returned dates per analysis. Collages and unrelated combined materials may be rejected.

2. Limited permission to use

During an authorized subscription or access period, Lessons in Line grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your approved private workspace. No ownership interest or source-code license is transferred to you.

3. Prohibited conduct

You may not, and may not help anyone else to:

• except for the limited sharing permitted in Section 7, copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, transmit, or otherwise make unauthorized reproductions of the service, source code, documentation, graphics, or protected content;
• use Lessons in Line's source code, original written content, artwork, logos, or other protected materials to create or market a substantially copied version of Lessons in Line;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, extract source code from, or attempt to discover the underlying structure or operation of the service, except to the limited extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• use bots, crawlers, spiders, scripts, scraping tools, data-mining tools, or other automated methods to access, collect, copy, monitor, or reproduce the service or its data without prior written permission;
• sell, resell, rent, sublicense, white-label, commercially exploit, or provide the service to unauthorized third parties;
• share an access code outside its authorized workspace, connect unauthorized people or devices, or use another student’s PIN or tracker without permission;
• circumvent or interfere with authentication, device approval, Firebase App Check, security rules, LessonLine processing allowances or file limits, access limits, or other protective measures; or
• use the service for unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.

4. Accounts and devices

The workspace administrator must be at least 18 years old or otherwise legally able to agree to these Terms and must have authority to create and control the workspace. Student access is available only to students age 13 or older. Parents and legal guardians may create and manage planners for younger children, but children under 13 may not directly access or use Lessons in Line.

New Lessons in Line accounts are currently offered only to people who live in the United States and will use the service in the United States. Creating a trial, beginning a new purchase, or activating a workspace requires confirmation of this eligibility. Public pages remain viewable, and temporary travel does not by itself disable an existing account.

You are responsible for safeguarding administrator credentials, the 8-digit private workspace code, student PINs, and the Administrator Mode Code; connecting or approving only trusted devices; choosing suitable permissions for each student; and promptly removing devices or access that should no longer be authorized. A new administrator device may be connected by verifying the registered administrator email and password together with the workspace code. Student devices require administrator approval. Activity performed through your credentials or connected devices may be treated as activity from your account.

5. Subscriptions and expiration

Access lasts for the purchased or authorized period. The monthly plan renews automatically until canceled; cancellation takes effect through Stripe and access ordinarily remains available through the paid-through date. The one-year option provides 365 consecutive days and does not renew automatically. Cancellation does not by itself create a refund, and any refund is governed by the checkout disclosures, applicable law, and any written refund commitment made by Lessons in Line. When access expires, planner features may be locked until renewal. Changing a school-calendar date does not restart or extend access. Prices, renewal terms, and other disclosures shown at checkout or in Workspace Account also apply.

6. User-entered content

You retain rights in original content you or an authorized student enters. You grant Lessons in Line the limited permission necessary to store, process, display, back up, and transmit that content solely to provide, maintain, and secure the service. Administrators are responsible for choosing who may add content and for ensuring that workspace content is lawful and may be used.

By choosing LessonLine, you confirm that you have the right to use the uploaded material for this purpose and authorize Lessons in Line and its service providers to temporarily store, security-scan, and process it as described in the Privacy Policy. Remove personal or private information that is not needed for the lesson plan before uploading. Processing allowances reset on the schedule shown in the service, usage varies with material length and complexity, and unused allowance does not represent a guaranteed number of files or assignments.

By choosing TaskLine, you likewise confirm that you have the right to use the selected photograph and authorize its temporary storage, security scanning, and processing as described in the Privacy Policy. Cover information that is not needed, and review every detected date and time before approval.

You are also responsible for websites, videos, files, and other external content you link from your workspace. You may not add links that are unlawful, infringing, deceptive, malicious, harmful, or inappropriate for the intended student. External websites are controlled by their respective operators, not Lessons in Line. Lessons in Line does not endorse, verify, or guarantee their content, safety, availability, privacy practices, or continued accuracy.

7. Sharing Lessons in Line

You may show your own workspace to others and share screenshots or brief screen recordings of Lessons in Line for reviews, recommendations, demonstrations, or discussions. When sharing, you must:

• protect students' and other users' private information;
• hide access codes, passwords, and the Administrator Mode Code;
• not state or imply that Lessons in Line sponsors or endorses you;
• not present Lessons in Line as a product you created; and
• not sell or use Lessons in Line's source code or protected materials to create a substantially copied service.

This permission does not prohibit independent creation, use of general ideas or common software features, reviews, comparisons, demonstrations, or other uses permitted by law.

8. Intellectual property

Lessons in Line, its logo, and its original human-authored text, graphics, and software are owned by the operator of Lessons in Line or their respective licensors. These materials may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses. No rights are granted except the limited permissions expressly stated in these Terms.

9. Suspension or termination

Access may be suspended or terminated for nonpayment, expiration, security concerns, misuse, violation of these Terms, or conduct that threatens the service or another user. Legal rights and provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

10. Availability and disclaimer

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Reasonable efforts are made to maintain it, but uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device, or freedom from all errors cannot be guaranteed. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.

Automated LessonLine and TaskLine results may be incomplete, inaccurate, duplicated, grouped incorrectly, or scheduled differently from the source material. You are responsible for reviewing all detected assignments, subjects or topics, recipients, dates, and times before approval and for correcting planner information when necessary.

Lessons in Line does not provide curriculum, accreditation, educational, medical, legal, emergency, or safety advice and does not guarantee educational results. It should not be used as the only record of an appointment, deadline, required lesson, attendance obligation, medication, emergency instruction, or other time-sensitive or safety-critical information. Keep independent copies of important schedules and materials and verify them against the original source.

11. Third-party services

Lessons in Line depends on third-party services, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud, OpenAI, Stripe, Gmail, and external websites or links selected by users. Their services may change, become unavailable, or be governed by separate terms and privacy practices. Lessons in Line is not responsible for third-party content, outages, or acts beyond its reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lessons in Line and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, or opportunity arising from use of or inability to use the service. This limitation does not apply where applicable law prohibits it.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.

14. General terms

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the purchase disclosures presented for the selected plan form the agreement concerning use of the service. You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms without written permission. Lessons in Line may transfer these Terms as part of a sale, reorganization, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.

15. Changes and contact

These Terms may be updated as the service changes. The effective date will be revised when updates are published. If a change materially affects existing users’ rights or privacy practices, additional notice will be provided when required. Questions may be sent to lessonsinline@gmail.com.
